Join MarinSpace, its panel of real estate and nonprofit experts, and your colleagues to discuss the implications of the 2009 MarinSpace Nonprofit Workspace Study. The panel will share its knowledge of landlord negotiations, space sharing, subleasing, facility management planning, and Marin County real estate trends to help nonprofits better leverage their workspace in these tough economic times. Panelists to-date include: Kilf Knoles, General Manager Marin Builder’s Association; China Brotsky, VP Tides Shared Spaces and NonprofitCenters Network; Jerry Suyderhound, 2008 Top Producer Orion Partners; Pat Burke, former partner Keegan & Coppin and local real estate developer, and Richard Kalish, local real estate attorney, Stephanie O’Brien, founder Dovetail Decisions, space design & furniture consultants.

Local nonprofit leaders operating shared space facilities, or developing projects, will also be on hand to share their practical experience, talk about space sharing opportunities, and discuss the lessons they have learned in the process. The event will be very local in focus and interactive in format. It is aimed at giving nonprofits practical and useful information about their workspace and other local nonprofit building projects.

This event is free and open to the public. It will be held on Thursday, December third from 8:30am-11:30am at the Marin Nonprofit Resource Center, 555 Northgate Drive in San Rafael.

MarinSpace, founded in 1988, is the only organization in Marin County solely dedicated to helping nonprofits improve the quality of their workspace so they can better serve the community. Its unique strategy bridges the gap between the real estate and nonprofit sectors to help create mission-enhancing space that is also financially and operationally sustainable. MarinSpace owns and operates buildings, provides planning and development services, and offers workspace-related information and resource referral programs.
